This tea tasters set is an easy and effective way to sample teas. They
are especially designed for use by professional tea tasters for
inspecting the dry tea leaf, the liquor (brew), and the infused leaf.
Holds 6 fluid ounces.
How To Use A Tea Cupping (Tasting) Set:
1) Place dry tea leaves into the handled tea cup.
2) Pour hot water over dry tea leaves and cover with lid. Allow tea to
steep for appropriate time.
3) Holding the lid securely down, carefully set the teacup horizontally,
with the handle facing up, into the tea bowl so that the bowl is
cradling both the cup and lid in place (see picture). Allow tea to drain
into the bowl. The jagged teeth on the cup allows the tea's liquor to
drain into the bowl while retaining the leaves in the cup.
4) Holding the lid securely on the cup, remove the cup from the tea
bowl, and flip the cup upside down, giving a tap to the bottom of the
cup. This causes the wet leaves to rest on the inside of the lid.
5) Carefully remove the lid and place it (inverted - knob side down)
inside the cup.
6) Sip your tea, observing the liquor's aroma, appearance, and flavor.
Inspect the tea leaves for color, leaf size, leaf condition, and aroma. |
